Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) has signed a contract with Havyard Design & Solutions for a complete diesel electric system to Esvagt`s new vessel: a HD 831 Service Operation Vessel. The offshore market has not been the best lately and NES has focused on other segments as ferry and fishing vessels during this period.
“As we now has signed eight system deliveries to Esvagt it shows that Esvagt is a very important customer to NES. It also means that we are competitive within our traditional market segment as well as new,” says Tor Leif Mongstad, president & CEO in NEs.
The vessel shall be built at Astilleros Zamakona Santurzi Shipyard in Spain and be ready for delivery in August 2019. The other seven vessels are built at ASL Shipyard in Singapore, Cemre Shipyard in Turkey and Astilleros Zamakona Santurzi in Spain.
Esvagt has signed a contract with the wind-power company MHI Vestas and the ship will be operating in OWF Deutsche Bucht.
The system delivery consists of:
- 6 generators 615-990 kW,
- 2 main propulsion motors 1000kW
- 2 el-motors for tunnel thrusters 1200kW
- Quadro Drive® frequency converters
- Main Switchboard 690V-440V-230V
- EMSB 690/230V
In addition, NES is responsible for engineering and commissioning of the system.
“NES` goal is to design and deliver innovative, reliable, effective and environmentally friendly solutions as well as performing the best possible service for our customer. Esvagt is a demanding and interesting customer to work with, and they have high expectations to stability. This keeps us aware and contributes to developing as a system integrator,” says Henry Myhre, who is the sales representative for this project. "We appreciate the cooperation we have with Esvagt, ”
