OUR HISTORY

Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) was established in 2009 with the development of new technological solutions based on the employees’ long experience within the marine industry. The aim of the company is to be a front runner of customized technical solutions which fulfill the expectations of the Customer. Several advanced diesel electric-, hybrid electric-, and 100% electric propulsion systems, for the global marine market, have been launched. The company has taken an important position both nationally and internationally in several market segments.

NES joined forces with Norwegian Control Systems (NCS) in 2018 to meet the market demand for integrated solution from ‘bridge to thruster’

NCS was founded in 2007 and has supplied advanced automation and bridge systems to a wide range of vessels worldwide.

The company is located in the heart of the strong maritime cluster in the north-west of Norway. The maritime cluster is home to a unique concentration of maritime companies, specialist research and educational institutions, and is granted the status as a Global Centre of Expertise (GCE).

NES, merged with NCS, is now well positioned for future growth in the marine industry throughout the coming years.

The merged companies will continue as Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) with main office in Bergen, and key competence offices in  Ålesund and Egersund
